In addition to my previous post, the problem you are describing is usually the result of a device failing. It could be the memmory however I would unplug EVERYTHING except the keyboard, mouse and monitor and if the computer has PS/2 inputs for the mouse and keyboard use them if you can instead of USB devices, (it could be usb driver). Then I would remove one stick of memory at a time and try it in each slot by itself, if it still locks up it is probably your hard drive.
